Access

The Pier is located in White Rock, Hastings, on the southern side of a level, accessible, shared use (pedestrian and bicycle) promenade. Information on how to get to the Pier can be found in the Getting Here page.

The streets in the surrounding area, particularly from the town centre and train station, are generally level access (a small downhill incline from Hastings train station), paved and in good condition.

The nearest car parks on level ground are:

• St Margaret's Road with 2 disabled spaces
• The Pier Underground with 2 disabled spaces
• Carlisle Parade with 7 disabled spaces

There is a temporary drop off point next to the Pier's West gate. Strictly no parking.

The Pier deck is on one level made up of 52 miles of Ekki hardwood decking with small gaps between planks (no more than 1cm).

The Pier is 272m long and perfect to promenade. If you would like to rest there are 11 outdoor bench seats located near to the balestrade of the Pier and in regular intervals to the Pier Head.

Hastings Pier has a wheelchair that will primarily be used for emergency situations but can be booked for special circumstances.

The Pavilion Restaurant & Bar is surrounded with glass panels with white frames and has several level access entrances. In the building there is a bar, cafe counter and fish & chip bar with low level counters - orders should be taken to the counters. A member of staff will be more than pleased to assist you with your order in areas with a higher level counter.

The Deck comprises of the Lower and Upper Deck. The Lower Deck has push button access doors on the East side of The Deck, a low level cafe counter and accessible hard surface floors throughout. The retail area has products on shelves and a member of staff would be happy to gather any products from the shelves for your consideration. There is a platform lift on the East side of The Deck which travels one floor to the Upper Deck. The kiosk cafe counter is located on the opposite side to the platform lift. In the event of a fire the platform lift is not to be used and there is an evac chair to aid the safe exit from The Deck, a member of staff will approach and assist you.

Some of the retail beach hut Kiosks have a small step into the hut. Hastings Pier has an access ramp that can be used to access these retail kiosks, please ask a member of staff for assistance.

Hastings Pier has 2 accessible toilets with baby change facilities, one located in The Pavilion Restaurant & Bar and one located in the lower level of The Deck. They are equipped with an emergency pull cord.

The nearest RADAR toilet is at Malaise Road, up a hill or at Wetherspoon's in the town centre, level access.
