About Hastings Pier Charity
The Hastings Pier Charity owns the pier and leads the Heritage Lottery funded project, which has restored the pier and continues to run community engagement projects. The vision for the restored Hastings Pier is to allow everyone, without exception, to understand, appreciate and experience the pier. It does this through activities that are rooted in the continuing story of seaside culture and heritage.

About Hastings Pier
This remarkable pier opened in 1872 and was designed by Eugenius Birch. It was the first pier designed for recreational use and is a testament to the lasting feats of Victorian engineering and enterprise. A fire in 2010 led to an intensive community campaign to save the pier. On 15 August 2013 HPC took ownership of the pier. Thanks to £14 million in funding, mostly from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Hastings Pier has been restored and opened in April 2016.
