Hastings Pier nominated for the RIBA Stirling Prize

Fantastic news! We are thrilled to hear that Hastings Pier has been shortlisted for the UK's top architecture award, the RIBA Stirling Prize.

Maria Ludkin, chair of Hastings Pier Charity’s board of directors, said: “We are delighted to be honoured by reaching the shortlist for this prestigious award. The new Hastings Pier is an architectural icon, which demonstrates not just brilliant design, but acts as a beacon for regeneration demonstrating power of consolidated community action. We thank RIBA for their recognition of all that has been accomplished.”

Alex de Rijke, founding director of dRMM Architects, said: "Hastings and St. Leonards now have a spectacular pier; a free-access public space for the pleasure of ‘walking on water’, and a civic space transformed by changing weather and events."
